Submitted by Benny on Mon, 2005-12-12 03:36.I recently just duped about a 1000 Gold, and this is how you do it, I'm warning you now though, its not easy and only do it once..
Ok what you do is on your account you vendor all your gear, and send all your gold to your friend, then log off and delete your character. Then maybe about one hour later you go on a level 1 character and page a GM saying that you got in a fight with your brother, and he went on your character and deleted it. Give them about 8 hours, and they will restore your character back with all your gold, funny thing is they don’t take away the gold you sent to your friend.
I tested this out with my friend that quit wow, I went on his warrior and vendored all his gear (all might btw) and he had like 1000 Gold, then I sent that gold to my character. One day later he got his character back with the gold and gear, lol at GMs they are total newbie!
Also remember to say it was your brother that did it, if you say someone hacked your account and did it they will close your account for weeks, to investigate it and then you have to call Blizzard to get it back, its a pain. Also blizzard logs your IP, so they will know that you deleted the 60 on the same IP that you were playing the 60 on.
For those that are worried about not getting their character back after you delete it, stop. Blizzard keeps a track of Everyone’s character and you will definitely get your character back, I've deleted so many characters and gotten them back, just don’t do it more then once, and when you do it make sure you dupe like 1000g.

well, my friend was playing a 64 rogue and accutally got hacked, he had full T2 and was full epiced, he got some greens for his charc......he got a ring that restores mana

This might actually work. People say that Blizzard will reinstate your char just as he/she was when you deleted him/her. If this happens just tell the GM that your brother, or whoever supposedly deleted your char, sold all your items and sent your gold to a friend that quit WoW. They will surely beleive you and send you your items you had right before you sold them. Although, I would not do this because I am an honest player who can easily make money. I just like to know how to exploit people :P

Well if you think of it might work but only once its like one of those scams sum1 finds out by accident i mean i have before lol scmaing is popular but in my opinion it is a victimless crime tho it does work in the end though u have to think of every word u say and make it seem reliable

I found another way and you can do it a lot without getting caught! Trust me...
but you need a few high lvls with good stuff...it is like exactly the same.
Give all the stuff from those characters to a friend you can trust!
Then delete all those characters and make a new character and say to Blizzard, my brother/sister (make a char for that person) deleted my characters because I ate his big cookie! ((Just make a exuse)) That did actually work when I said it... XD
Then blizzard says to you, make [number of how many characters you had deleted]. Then do it and then he restores every single one! I made over 10000g doing this.

This won't work. I've vendored almost all my items and deleted a character before. I wanted him restored, and they restored him... but only with the items that he had when I deleted him.
In other words, your character will be restored naked without any gold.

You COULD send all your gold to someone, and you COULD get all your gold back but, the account you sent the gold to would probably get banned.

a way to get around keyoggers, the character that is going to get all the gold can put up say a piece of stringy wolf meat or some useless shit in the AH and set the price to however much the person has, so that person buys the stringy wolf meat for 5000g or whatnot, the selling character then gets all the money. whether or not you can get the account restored to the point of you having the gold on the buying character, whether blaming your little brother or your newly ex-wife, i'm not sure. all i'm stating is its a way of avoiding blizzard tracking who sent mail to who.

This wont work. The excuse of getting into a fight with another person is already ruled off in the rules. They clearly state that sharing your password can compromise the security of your account. If someone else logs on and deletes your character, it is your fault for giving them your information

I have a 60 warrior( Warrior A) and my friend another 60 warrior ( Warrior B) with the best of AH gear and about 2000g. I had around 1000g on my own character, a week before I did this I sent the 1000g to my friends warrior (he didn't play on it anymore he just stopped yet had time on his account) so now warrior B has 3000g.
So warrior B sends 3,000g to warrrior A and then immediately deletes the character. I wait about 20 minutes and went on warrior Bs alt and send a GM ticket saying my bitchy little sister just deleted my warrior when we were fighting and I have been working on for a long time now and I was wondering if I can restore it please.
I left it to that and waited till the next day to log back on again. That next day I logged on to warrior B and he had 3,000g, I sent it to my own character warrior A and now I have 6,000g LrnPBlizz :) I do not recomend trying this twice as it will look very suspicious and they will look into it further and ban you, so this is a 1 time only dupe but an effective one.

ey i got a fang of the faceless given to me on my rogue and i never was in zg ever i lookeed up a weapon that i wanted did a petition and said i accidentally sold it as a broken item that i was sleepy after a 10 hour farming day they maid me wait 3 days and in my mail box was one fang of the faceless and i had a nice dagger just for dropping a line of shit on blizz.

The only way blizzard is going to give you your armor back is if you have the EXACT ammount the vendored armor gave, if you dont have the money blizzard will restore your char with some crap armor. (read the blizzard FAQ)

Yeah, if you say you were hacked or whatever, they WILL give you random uncommons that you have the skill to use (I was REALLY hacked, and they gave me full greens with stats like [+4strenght +7agility], despite me being a Lvl44 Mage (39 at the time).

Just a reminder, doing this in real life is prohibited, so it makes me wonder about the people who are doing this and what kind of a person they are. This is the type of thing that gives gamers a bad reputation everywhere. No well-informed person wants to be labeled into this.

Give your friend 1000g, than
Give your friend 1000g, than press F4, and log in so fast you can, and then Delete your char, the server has nothing Saved because you were logged in while you delet- your char
Due to abuse they have
Due to abuse they have changed how the deletion works. When you "delete" your character it isn't deleted off blizzards servers, it just disappear from the world (for example name becomes available) and becomes hidden in your client. However it is still there in the blizzard database, and it is still associated with your account.
When you ask a GM for a reinstatement of your char, they just re-enable it. If you left it naked without gold - you will find it naked without gold.

Could you send the gold from the guy your deleting to an alt character or only to a different account?

I deleted a alt level 43 warrior gnome and whispered a gm and said all that stuff my bor got ,ad at me and in like 3 days i hade my character back with everything on it and i got the g back from a freind but i don't think i'll try it twice and with a main i'm to parinoid for that

a bunch of my friends rerolled alliance, so they deleted all their items and sent the gold to their new chars (via gadgetzan).. after a few weeks they got bored, decided they wanted to get their chars restored. well they did, but they were completely naked and 0g.
BLIZZARD RESTORES CHARS TO THE STATE THEY WERE AT WHEN YOU CLICK 'DELETE'.........
This wasn't a one-time deal. This has happened to 4 different people on 4 completely different occasions.

I believe this works on the principle of relying on the character data to be backed up by Blizzard periodically, not constantly, and if you wait some time after deleting, they will have updated the database by then.
I don't think it works any more at all
I am pretty sure that when a character is deleted, an immediate snapshot is taken of the character. This may not have been the case when you did it, but since it is posted on an easily searchable website, then they probably caught on.
